How much roof space is needed for a solar installation?
As a general rule, you need approximately 10 sq. ft. of shadow-free roof space per 100 watts of solar capacity. A typical 5 kW residential system requires around 500 sq. ft. (roughly 46 m²). Our site survey team will conduct a precision shade analysis and recommend the optimal panel count and layout for your specific rooftop geometry.
What is the lifespan of a solar PV system?
Tier-1 monocrystalline panels carry a 25-year linear power output warranty (guaranteeing at least 80% output at year 25) and typically operate for 30+ years. Inverters generally last 10–15 years and may require one replacement over the system's lifetime. With proper AMC support, the overall system remains profitable well beyond its initial payback period.
Is regular maintenance required? What does it involve?
Yes — regular maintenance is essential to protect your yield. Dust accumulation alone can reduce output by 15–25% within a few months. Our recommended quarterly maintenance covers panel cleaning, junction box inspection, torque checks on all connections, inverter diagnostics, earthing resistance tests, and thermal imaging to detect hotspots before they become failures.
What happens during a grid power cut — will my solar system still work?
A standard grid-tied system will automatically shut down during a power cut (anti-islanding protection) for safety. If you need backup power during outages, we recommend a hybrid system with battery storage. This configuration continues to power critical loads from the battery while the grid is down, switching back seamlessly when grid power is restored.
How long does a typical installation take?
Residential installations (up to 10 kW) are typically completed in 1–3 days. Commercial projects (20–100 kW) take 1–2 weeks. Utility-scale EPC projects (100 kW+) follow a detailed project schedule — typically 4–12 weeks from mobilisation to commissioning, depending on civil works and DISCOM interconnection timelines.
Are there government subsidies available for solar in India?
Yes. Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, residential consumers can receive subsidies of ₹30,000 to ₹78,000 depending on system size. Commercial and industrial installations qualify for 40% accelerated depreciation in the first year. We assist all clients with subsidy applications, DISCOM documentation, and net-metering paperwork as a standard part of our service.
What brands of panels and inverters do you use?
We exclusively use Tier-1 rated modules from manufacturers such as Waaree, Vikram Solar, Jinko, and LONGi.
